I am running for the Board of Directors to contribute to REBA strategically and specifically help the organization think through how to best integrate community impact into renewable energy procurement and investment. I have always believed in our collective responsibility to invest in a more sustainable world. Since 2008, Sol Systems has been a platform that has empowered me (and many others) to do make this investment and to build our industry one step at a time. We have helped finance or develop over one billion dollars in thousands of solar energy assets, we have helped develop numerous environmental markets for solar and wind projects, and we have built a company along the journey. I feel a very personal and parallel responsibility to ensure that as we expand our industry we invest in the communities in and around our projects, especially those communities that have not benefited from similar economic transitions in the past. As the co-founder of company founded in diversity, as one of the driving forces behind Renewables Forward, and as a strategic partner to a number of large corporates and municipalities tackling these issues, I think I have a unique perspective to contribute to REBA and its membership.
